What is logo design?

Logo design is the craft of creating the primary mark that identifies a brand, the symbol, wordmark or combination that appears on everything the brand makes. A logo is not the brand itself, but it is the most concentrated, most repeated signal of it, so it has to be distinctive, legible and durable across every size and surface.

Why the mark does the heavy lifting

The logo is the single element a brand uses most, on signage, packaging, screens, documents and merchandise, often as the only brand cue present. That repetition makes it the anchor of recognition, which is why it must work as well at a favicon’s size as on a billboard, in one colour as in full colour, in motion as in print.

Where a strong logo earns its keep

A well-made logo reduces friction everywhere it appears: it reproduces cleanly, scales without falling apart and stays recognisable for years, so the brand looks intentional in every context. We design marks as flexible systems, primary, secondary and responsive versions, so the brand has the right form for every space it has to fit.

Logo Design FAQs

What makes a good logo?

A good logo is distinctive, simple enough to be remembered, legible at small sizes, and reproducible in one colour and across every surface. It should still work years later, which is why timelessness usually beats trendiness.

What is the difference between a logo and a brand identity?

A logo is the primary identifying mark. A brand identity is the wider system, colour, type, imagery, motion and voice, that surrounds it. The logo is the anchor; the identity is everything that makes the brand consistent around it.

What file formats will we receive?

You receive master vector files that scale to any size without loss, along with raster exports and the primary, secondary, responsive, monochrome and reversed versions needed for real-world use.

How many logo concepts do you present?

We present a focused set of considered routes rather than a large volume of options, then refine the chosen direction. Quality of thinking matters more than quantity of sketches.
